【摘要】:TestMethodsD518,D1149,D1171,andD3395canbeusedtoevaluatedifferentaspectsoffatigueandweathercrackingresistanceofsidewallcomponentmaterialsintheformoftestspecimens.Thepresentmethodappliestocompletetiresthataresubjectedtoactualweatherexposureconditions.Thepresentmethodissatisfactoryforresearchanddevelopmentpurposesbutisnotapplicabletoregulatorystatutesorpurchasespecificationsuntilstandardclassificationsofstateofcracking,similartothoseinTestMethodD1171,canbeestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforevaluatingpassengercartiresforsidewallcomponentintegrityandcrackingresistance,usinganoutdoorroadwheel.1.2Thistestmethodevaluatestheresistanceoftiresidewallstodynamicweathering,atmosphericozonecracking,fatiguecracking,oropeningsofspliceswithin,orofjuncturesbetweensidewallcomponentsandcrackingatmoldedsidewallelements.1.3Thistestmethodisusefulforevaluatingtireblacksidewalls,whitesidewalls,andcoverstrips.1.4Thistestmethodislimitedtocomparativeperformancetestingbetweena"control"sidewallcomponentorassemblyandoneormoreexperimentalalternativesthatarebuiltontothesametire("multisection")orontotiresthatareidenticalinallrespectsotherthanthesidewallvariation.1.5Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoevaluationofsidewallresistancetoabrasion,asmaybeexperiencedinseverecorneringorcurbscuffing.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionstatements,see5.2
