【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesamarinetestmethodforthedeterminationoftherelativeeffectivenessofawoodpreservativeappliedbyvacuum/pressureimpregnationorotherprocesseswhichwouldleadtodeeppenetrationofthetestspecimensinordertopreventattackoftimberinsea-waterbymarinewood-boringorganisms.Theprotectiveeffectisassessedinrelationtothatofareferencepreservativeappliedbyastandardtreatment.Itisimportanttorealizethattherelationshipbetweentheresultsofthesemarinetestsandperformanceinservicecanstillvaryfordifferentpreservatives.Thismethodisapplicablefortestinganytypeofwoodpreservative,providedthatcompletepenetrationofthetestspecimenisachieved.NOTE.Aftersuitablemodification,itispossibletoassesstheeffectivenessofapreservativeproductinotherwoodspeciesoritseffectivenesswhenappliedbymethodsotherthanvacuumandpressureimpregnationbutonlyprovidedthatacompleteimpregnationofthetestspecimensisachieved.note:1)TheonlyspecificEuropeanaspectofthisstandardliesinthechoiceoftheobligatoryreferencespeciesPinussylvestris.ThemethodcanbeusedwithanyothertimberspeciesofpreferenceandisnotspecifictoEuropeinitsfieldofapplication.
